June 2001 I will see Dr. Thayer at the end of this month, and I have a much longer list of questions for him than when I first met him. I want to make sure my doctor is comfortable with a lot of questions from me and I want to see that he takes the time to answer them all. I know this will be the case with Dr. Thayer. After this next appointment with him I have no more appointments until a little bit before the surgery where I have all my pre-op work done and a gall bladder ultrasound. I hope I get to keep my gallbladder, I'm sorta fond of the little guy. And I would hate to have to become best buddies with Immodium AD. I continue to lose weight and this month am down to 259, a total loss of 47 lbs. from when I decided to pursue WLS. New pics are in the Pictures section. I have set a personal goal for myself: to reach anywhere in the 240's by my July 7 vacation. I'll have to work hard to reach that, but it's only when I get in the 240s that I'm able to fit in roller coaster rides, and I plan on going to two different Six Flags on vacation. At this month's Obesity Support meeting at NWH they had a plastic surgeon who showed pics of tummy tucks and other things. It was great to see how they can get rid of all the excess skin you have after losing large amounts of weight, but the down side is the scars really are IMO very large and noticeable. Whaddya gonna do – it's 6 of one or a half-dozen of the other... |
