November 2002

I've been extremely busy and haven't had time to update this site until now, even though it's the beginning of December. We're building a house and it takes up an unbelievable amount of time and effort. It will be worth it when it's all done, but for now it's pretty hectic!

For October-November I lost another 1.5 pounds. I am VERY happy being in the 140s and a size 8. I have at least $2,000 worth of larger sized clothes that I have to find a consignment store to sell. Losing weight has been great, but it sure is expensive in the clothes department.

Some days I can eat up to half a meal and other days not even 1/4. I don't know why it's so inconsistent but that's the way it is. I can't tolerate much alcohol anymore -- just 1/4 glass of wine and I need to stop. The wine wears off as fast as it comes on though, just like meals. I may not eat much at dinner but 2 hours later I do need to eat more.

I have found that eating a little here and there all during the day has worked best for me. They do not recomend this for everyone because it can lead to "grazing" (where you munch on high-calorie snacks all day). I eat protein bars, Nutrigrain bars, grapes, cheese, soy crisps, and things like that.

This is the time of the year when all the goodies are made. I've found I can tolerate more sugar now (a couple of Christmas cookies doesn't bother my system anymore). I do believe I will simply have to watch my sugar intake more carefully as I don't want to build up any more tolerance to it. I enjoy the freedom that comes with being without sugar.
